The BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2026 is over, and South Korea took the trophy home again. NS RedForce (Nongshim RedForce) won the three-day Grand Finals at The Dome, SVP Indoor Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, 1 November, finishing on 233 points, 82 clear of second place. They take the ₹30 lakh first prize and a spot at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026. Gladiators Esports were the best of the six Indian teams in 4th place, seven points short of the second PMGC slot.

What happened at BMIC 2026

BMIC 2026 was KRAFTON India's international BGMI LAN. Sixteen teams played 18 matches in a single lobby across 30 October to 1 November: six from India, five from South Korea and five from Japan. Points carried over across all three days and there was no Smash Rule, so the highest total after Match 18 won the event, according to TalkEsport's BMIC 2026 event page.

NS RedForce led after every day. As reported by TalkEsport and SportsAdda:

  • Day 1: 72 points, one ahead of Dplus KIA. The Times of India noted that Team Outrage and K9 Esports each won a match on the opening day.
  • Day 2: up to 128 points and a 23-point lead, helped by a 28-point Chicken Dinner on Miramar in Match 12, the highest single-match score of the event.
  • Day 3: another 105 points, with Chicken Dinners in Match 14 and Match 18.

They entered Match 18 67 points ahead and won it anyway, with 21 points.

Prize money for the top four

According to TalkEsport, which reported the split as announced by KRAFTON India Esports, NS RedForce earn ₹30 lakh, DRX ₹15 lakh, Dplus KIA ₹10 lakh and Gladiators Esports ₹7.5 lakh. Every team in the lobby gets paid, down to ₹1.25 lakh for 16th place.

How the PMGC race was decided

Second place was the real contest on Sunday. It carried a place in the PMGC 2026 Group Stage, and before Match 18 three teams were within four points of it: DRX on 145, Gladiators Esports on 142 and Dplus KIA on 141. DRX scored 6, Dplus KIA 8 and Gladiators only 2. DRX finished on 151, two points ahead of Dplus KIA, and Gladiators dropped to fourth.

Gladiators had set up the finish with Chicken Dinners in Match 15 on Erangel (23 points) and Match 17 on Miramar (17 points), climbing from 6th to 3rd with one game left. DRX's 24-point Chicken Dinner on Erangel in Match 16 lifted them into second, and they stayed there.

Why it matters

Korea's grip on BMIC got tighter. SportsAdda notes that DRX won BMIC in 2025 with India's True Rippers in second. This year Korean teams took the top three places. NS RedForce's 148 finishes were 49 more than any other team managed, and TalkEsport points out that their finish points alone would have placed them fourth overall.

The crowd was there. Independent tracker eSportsAmaze recorded a peak of about 4.68 lakh concurrent YouTube viewers at 5:36 PM IST on 1 November, during Match 18. That figure combines the official feeds with community watch parties. It is a third-party estimate, and tracking only started on 31 October, so Day 1 is not included.

A roster subplot. SportsAdda reports that NS RedForce signed HyunBin and Soez from DRX in January, yet DRX's rebuilt line-up still earned the second PMGC spot.

Impact on Indian esports

This section is analysis.

No Indian team qualified for PMGC 2026 from BMIC, and that is the headline result for India. The details are more encouraging. Indian teams won 7 of the 18 matches: Gladiators 3, Team Outrage 2 and K9 Esports 2. Gladiators' 98 finishes were the second-highest total in the lobby. Indian sides can clearly win individual games against top Korean opposition.

The gap was consistency over 18 matches. Team Outrage are a good example. Their 19-point Chicken Dinner on Rondo in Match 13 moved them up to fourth, and a run of low scores afterwards dropped them to fifth. BMSD 2026 champions Team SouL finishing 12th shows how different a mixed international lobby can be from a domestic circuit.

Lessons for teams and organisers

This section is analysis.

  • Placement discipline matters as much as fragging. NS RedForce had 85 placement points against Gladiators' 46. Over a full LAN, surviving into the late zones adds up.
  • International scrims need to be regular. With BMIC the main Korea-Japan-India meeting point, Indian teams need more structured practice against foreign teams between events.
  • Final-match planning is a skill. Three teams were within four points of a PMGC slot before Match 18. Knowing when to play for placement and when to chase fights is something teams can practise.

What's next

  • PMGC 2026: NS RedForce go to the Gauntlet and DRX to the Group Stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship in Istanbul, Türkiye.
  • Battlin Open Season 1: KRAFTON India's new tournament platform starts its first BGMI open event on 2 November. It has a ₹20 lakh prize pool and a BGIS slot, according to SportsAdda.
  • Roster season: In an interview with TalkEsport, KRAFTON India's Karan Pathak said the next BGMI transfer window opens on 15 November. The closing date is not yet final, and the official notice had not been posted at the time of writing.

Conclusion

NS RedForce's BMIC 2026 win was decisive: they led after every day, had the most finishes and the most Chicken Dinners, and won by 82 points. For India, the Mumbai LAN showed that Indian teams can win matches against Korea's best but cannot yet keep it up over 18 games. With the transfer window opening soon and new open circuits starting, the next few weeks give Indian teams a chance to work on that gap before the 2027 season.
