PUBG India Challenge 2026: KRAFTON's ₹25 Lakh Bet on Indian PC Esports
KRAFTON India's PUBG India Challenge 2026 is an open PUBG PC tournament with a ₹25 lakh pool. Format, dates, eligibility, prizes and what it means for India.

KRAFTON India has added a PC title to its esports calendar. The PUBG India Challenge 2026 (PIC 26) is an open PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (PC) squad tournament for teams from India, with a ₹25 lakh prize pool. Registration opened on October 21, 2026, and the competition runs to a Grand Final on November 28–29.
Until now, KRAFTON India's competitive programme has been built around BGMI. TalkEsport describes PIC 26 as the publisher's first PC event built only for players in India, and it arrives as reports suggest India could become its own PUBG PC region in 2027. That second part is still unconfirmed.
What Happened
On October 20, KRAFTON India Esports posted a teaser saying "a new chapter for PC esports in India is loading", and announced PIC 26 the following day, Outlook Respawn reports. Teams sign up through the official site, pubgesports.in, where KRAFTON has also published the PIC 26 Official Rulebook (version 1.0, dated October 20, 2026).
The rulebook says PIC 26 follows SUPER, KRAFTON's Standard and Universal PUBG Esports Ruleset (version 6.0.3), and adds competition-specific rules on format, eligibility and prizes. Some early coverage, including TalkEsport, refers to the event as the "PUBG India Cup"; the official rulebook uses the name PUBG India Challenge.

How the Format Works
Qualifiers (November 11). Every registered team that still meets the rules at roster lock is eligible. If more than 128 teams register, the 128 with the highest seeding scores play, based on their players' current-season Ranked points. Teams are spread across lobbies of up to 16, each playing five matches, and 32 teams reach the League. If 32 or fewer teams register, there are no Qualifiers.
League (November 12–22). The 32 teams are split into four groups of eight. Over two weekends, each team plays 20 matches. The top 12 go straight to the Grand Finals, places 13 to 28 drop to the Last Chance, and the bottom four are eliminated. November 23–25 are kept as reserve days.
Last Chance (November 26). Sixteen teams play five matches from zero points, and the top four take the final Grand Finals places.
Grand Finals (November 28–29). Sixteen teams play 10 matches, five per day. The League's top eight start with bonus points, from +10 for first down to +1 for seventh and eighth.
Scoring is the same throughout: one point per kill, plus placement points of 10, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and 1 for first to eighth place. The map rotation is Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Rondo and Erangel on every match day. The rulebook states that all matches are played online unless the administration announces otherwise.
Prize Pool Breakdown
The rulebook splits the ₹25 lakh across all 16 Grand Finals teams. The Qualifiers, League and Last Chance carry no prize money.

Eligibility Rules Worth Noting
Three rules stand out. First, every player must live in India, as a citizen or legal resident, and play every match from India. The rulebook notes this is stricter than SUPER, which only requires half of a roster to come from the region. Second, players must be at least 18 on November 11, 2026. Third, rosters have four or five players, and PIC 26 does not register coaches or managers.
The rulebook also says a player registered for PIC 26 cannot take part in the PUBG APAC Challenge 2026 (PAC 26), so players have to choose one pathway.
Why It Matters
Analysis: Indian PUBG PC teams do not currently have their own official route. They compete through the PUBG Master Series alongside teams from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Southeast Asia and Oceania, as both TalkEsport and Outlook Respawn note. A publisher-run, India-only event gives the PC community a structured season of its own.
The paid Grand Finals is also notable. Paying all 16 finalists, rather than only the podium, softens the cost of competing for smaller teams, which matters in a scene with few organisation-backed rosters.
Impact on Indian Esports
Analysis: India's competitive scene is overwhelmingly mobile-first. PIC 26 tests whether there is enough PC talent and interest to support a publisher-backed circuit. A clear ladder (open Qualifiers, a two-weekend League, a Last Chance and a 16-team final) gives grassroots squads a realistic target and gives the publisher useful data on participation.
What remains unconfirmed: reports say India could become its own PUBG PC region in 2027, with four competitive cycles and international slots. KRAFTON has not officially confirmed this, and the PIC 26 rulebook does not link the event to any international qualification. Treat the 2027 region as a report until the publisher says otherwise.
Lessons for Teams, Organisers, Players and Sponsors
For players and teams
Check eligibility early. Age is measured on November 11, accounts must be in good standing, and the roster locks on November 10. Seeding uses players' current Ranked points, so active ranked play before the deadline can help placement if registrations exceed 128 teams.
For organisers
The rulebook is a good model of transparency: dates, advancement numbers, scoring, tiebreakers and the full prize split were published on day one. Detailed rules reduce disputes before they start.
For sponsors and brands
A PC event with an 18+ field reaches a different audience from mobile tournaments. Broadcast details have not been announced, so reach is still unknown.
What's Next
Registration closes on November 4 at 23:59 IST, rosters lock on November 10, and the Qualifiers start on November 11. Meanwhile, KRAFTON India's BGMI calendar continues with the BGMI International Cup in Mumbai from October 30 to November 1. Any official word on a 2027 India PUBG PC region would be the next major development to watch.
Conclusion
PIC 26 has a modest prize pool by BGMI standards, but it is a meaningful signal: KRAFTON India now runs an official, India-only pathway on PC. Whether it grows into a full region depends on turnout and on announcements KRAFTON has not yet made.
